These Wild Days
The toddler years are my favorite: messy, sweet, fun.
Cozy cuddly snuggles mixed with adventures in the sun.
The clothes are often stained, adorned with Spidey, shark, and “mini.”
The toothy smiles heart-melting; the kisses slobbery sweet.
The vocabulary is growing, spoken in the cutest high-pitched voice.
I would spend each and every minute here, if I only had the choice.
There are misspoken words, hilarious phrases, with plenty of “no,” and “woohoo,” along with my favorites - “mama” and “love you.”
The tantrums are ridiculous, triggered by all things big and small; ending when he decides he’d rather giggle and play than pout and shout at all.
The giggles are blissful, frequent, loud.
The toys overflowing from cubbies and corners all over the house.
The imagination wild; the energy endless.
The days hectic, chaotic, blessed.
I try not to blink; these moments go by too fast.
My mama heart is full, praying these wild days last and last.
