Everything

Everything.

A baby changes everything.

And, no, I’m not just talking about the changes to your body, your priorities, and every single detail of your daily life (hello 4 minute showers, middle of the night wake-ups, new mom uniform of messy buns and yoga pants always with coffee in hand, and let’s not forget about the foggy groundhog days of the first few weeks).

No, a baby changes so much more than that...

… in a rock your world, flip your perspective, and shake your foundation way – all for the better.

He changes how you view your past – as necessary highs and lows, hits and misses, ups and downs, hellos and goodbyes that were precisely lined up and woven together in a series of events that led to the greatest little blessing swaddled up and cozy in your arms.

He changes the way you view your present – each moment as a gift that you treasure more than any that came before. It’s as if time has slowed down for you to soak in their every little feature (those tiny toes, those feathery eyelashes, that fuzzy hair!) and their every sound (squawks, breaths, and babbles, oh my!), while also speeding up and warping with never enough time to get everything done (… and you surprise yourself that you actually kind of don’t care that your once live-and-breathe-by to do list is growing and is uncharacteristically absent of check marks).

He changes the way you view your future – oh, how he changes your future. The world opens up and the possibilities are endless, and you simultaneously want to pause time forever while also eagerly looking forward to unraveling the sweet moments to come, getting to know your little one and loving your sweet little family more and more every single day.

So, yes, a baby changes everything.

Everything.
